Councilman James Ferriero was elected to the North Arlington Borough Council in 2002 and re-elected in 2005, Councilman Jim Ferriero is the governing body's longest serving member.

A former Council President, Mr. Ferriero is a homeowner and resides on High Street with his wife Alice. The Ferriero's are both parents and grand-parents.

A retired military veteran, Councilman Ferriero earned the rank of Lt. Colonel and attended the United States Army War College. A veteran of World War ll, Councilman Ferriero is a native of neighboring Harrison.

One of the borough's most respected veterans, Mr. Ferriero is a member of the Calo-Sass VFW as well as the Alexander Stover American Legion Post. A parishioner of Queen of Peace where he serves as a church usher, Councilman Ferriero is a member of the Knights of Columbus #3428.

Retired as an employee of the federal government's Small Business Administration, Councilman Ferriero has also worked as a consultant with Johnston Communications of Kearny.
